I’ve been having one of those days – scratch that, one of those weeks actually, where I just can’t seem to get anything done.
Things have been going a bit pear shaped just recently, and it’s frustrating as well as upsetting sometimes.
Most of my friends seem to think of me as somebody who has it ‘all together’ and can get through anything without fuss or struggle. But here’s the thing…no, I can’t – nobody can!
We ALL have awkward times when we’ve tried everything but we’re just stuck.
Maybe we know what solutions we’d like to implement, but they’re just out of reach, or not available just now, or perhaps we can’t afford them until next month…
And so here we are, left feeling STUCK. And it sucks.
But you know what? It doesn’t have to.
If nothing is moving in your life, then it could be that the Universe has put you in time-out for a reason.
Maybe it’s time to take a break? Perhaps what you’ve been striving for isn’t actually a good idea, or maybe there’s something else you should be focussing on instead?
So here’s a radical idea – how about you have a rest and enjoy not having anything you can do, and make THAT your challenge for now, until the answers appear.
We are very good at being busy little bees, getting shiz done, but when we find ourselves with nothing to do, or unable to progress and move, it can be rather disconcerting.
Because we’ve lost the Goddess-given ability to rest, relax and trust that the universe will sort everything out for us.
Evey, my fur-baby is probably my best teacher when it comes to this. If she wants something but can’t have it, she will eventually give up asking and have a snooze. At a loose end, she takes a cat nap!
Nothing in her demeanour suggests that she is worried about tomorrow or concerned that her project to catch a mouse has been interrupted by some loud noises outside.
She will just take 5, and pick up where she left off later.
If she feels like it.
So today I’m going to take a leaf out of Evey’s book of cat-wisdom and take a break. I can’t achieve what I want, so there’s no point hitting my head against a brick wall.
And thinking about it, yes I probably do need a rest, to get me ready for the big plans I have.
The clever old Universe doesn’t put obstacles in your way for nothing. It knows exactly what it’s doing, so take heart next time you feel stuck.
Don’t fight it, take a deep breath, and know that the world will still be there tomorrow, or in a week, or in a month’s time.
And who knows how much wiser you might be by then…
