Spring is such a be-yoo-tiful time of year, the bees, the flowers, the pollen…ahem.
Well sadly not all of us do very well when the pollen count starts to climb, and I’m right there with you sneezing, snuffling, eyes watering and reaching for the tissues.
Even little Evey-cat has been sniffly these past few days, and whilst seeing her sneeze is adorable (and apparently good luck too), I decided enough was enough and went looking for some safe, Holistic allergy solutions for the whole family.
I love chamomile and daisy tea for some instant relief, but sadly I can’t sit with my nose stuck in a hot cup of steaming beverage all day – it’s not advisable when driving either! Evey isn’t keen though, and many kids aren’t either.
I wanted to find an effective, safe and more importantly ethical and vegan-friendly way to deal with Hay Fever and allergies. I went to work researching for you to my sheer delight I found that having a salt lamp in your home will help beat the pollen!
Yes, that’s right. A humble Himalayan Pink Salt Lamp was the answer I’d been looking for all along!
It doesn’t seem to matter whether you use a regular plug-in lamp
A mini (and super cool I might add) USB lamp (I have one of these in my car too!)
Or an adorable Pink Salt Tealight Holder with a candle
the results are the same.
Cleaner air, less pollen in your home, office or car and less sneezing! HOORAY!
But HOW does it work? Well here’s the science…
Pollen, dust, dirt, pollutants, and any other junk in the air all carry a positive charge, which keeps them suspended in the air.
The negative ions released from a lit Himalayan Salt Lamp negate the positive charge of air contaminants, and the neutralized ions are sucked into the burning candle or fall to the ground.
Many air purifiers and water filters harness this effective negative ion technology, and it’s really nothing new. It’s just that most of us don’t know about it!
So, check out our Himalayan Pink Salt range and give your nose a break!
